Pulmonary Function Test

Alliance Respiratory Consultants integrate a certified Pulmonary Function Laboratory of high technology, which allows us to evaluate your lung capacity, respiratory mechanics and diffusion capacity, through various diagnostic manoeuvres integrated with our Respiratory Therapists. 

A Pulmonary Function Test (PFT) is a breathing test designed to give a physician more information about the way your lungs are working that cannot be obtained through listening with a stethoscope or talking to a patient. A PFT is painless, non-invasive, and most children age 6 or older are able to perform these tests by following some simple directions.

A PFT can be used to determine if a patient’s respiratory symptoms are secondary to obstructive lung disease for instance Asthma/COPD or other respiratory conditions. This test also helps us monitor responses to treatment.
